Toyota Motor Manufacturing Poland is to carry out a new investment in its factory in Jelcz-Laskowice in a production line for its new generation 1.5 litre petrol engine. Production is set to start in 2020, with capital expenditure of PLN 400 million, which increases Toyota's production investments in Poland to nearly PLN 4.5 billion.
The new engine was designed based on Toyota's new global design platform (Toyota New Global Architecture). The engine and battery will be used in hybrid drives and in the conventional version (for Toyota models sold from 2020).
DZP is advising the company on obtaining state aid for investments in the form of the financial support offered by the Minister of Development and Finances in the Programme to support investments of major importance to the Polish economy for the years 2011-2020, and also for locating projects in the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone "INVEST-PARK".
We have advised Toyota from the start of the process, i.e. from the conclusion of a letter of intent with the Minister of Development and Finances. We then advised on drawing up an application to the Polish Trade and Investment Agency, the Ministry of Development and the Wałbrzych SEZ.
At DZP the project was headed by Marcin Krakowiak, Partner and head of the Infrastructure and Energy Practice, Anna Glapa, Partner, and Aneta Włoszek, Associate.
DZP has advised Toyota for many years on all aspects of its business, including corporate and labour law. DZP also supports Toyota in state aid, particularly as regards operations in SEZ and obtaining other forms of support for investment projects.
