DZP advised on sale of EMC Instytut Medyczny S.A.

The Capital Markets and Financial Institutions Practice has advised the Gerber family on the sale of a controlling block of shares in EMC Instytut Medyczny S.A., the largest owner of hospitals and clinics on the private medical services market in Poland.

EMC, founded over 10 years ago, currently runs 8 hospitals and 16 specialist and primary healthcare clinics and has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since 2005.

DZP's advisory also covered organising the tender submission process and participation in the tender assessment process, establishing rules for the further active involvement of the company's founder, Mr Piotr Gerber, in its operations and providing the company with financing through funds from the Penta group. DZP also provided regulatory advisory in relation to the transaction.

The sale of EMC Instytut Medyczny S.A. is the largest transaction of this type on the medical services market this year after Bupa's acquisition of Luxmed.
