The rapid development of internet technology over recent years has increased the risk of our personal data being used, which in turn increases the need to strengthen online data protection. The way in which these data are processed, very often beyond the control of any authorities, is becoming increasingly opaque and difficult to understand, and could therefore lead to our privacy being compromised.
The Annual Privacy Forum 2022, an event dedicated to the protection and processing of personal data online, will be held on 23-24 June in Warsaw. The forum is organised by the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), the European Commission, Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw and Kozminski University. During the event, the representatives of the above-mentioned institutions together with invited experts, incl. from the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO) and the NASK National Research Institute will discuss the upcoming changes in the field of data security and protection, as well as exchange their experiences so far.
On behalf of DZP, the event will be attended by Bartosz Marcinkowski, Partner and head of the data privacy team, and Marek Laskowski, Director of the IT Department. Our experts will take part in a panel session "Privacy by Design and Cookies", during which Bartosz will focus on discussing the functioning of the principles of privacy by design and privacy by default ensuring the protection of privacy from the beginning of the data processing process, while Marek will discuss the topic in terms of issues related to with cybersecurity.
In the event, apart from DZP experts, the floor will be taken, among others, by representatives of the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity, the European Data Protection Board and the Personal Data Protection Office. The entire meeting will be opened by the representative of the European Commission, Lorena Boix Alonso from the Directorate-General for Communication Networks, Content and Technology.
The event will be held in a hybrid format. A detailed programme and registration link are available on the forum website.
