We are pleased to invite you to a seminar on 18 August at 10:00 CET on "Foreign subsidies regulation (FSR) and its impact on Chinese investments in Europe", which is organised by the law firm DZP in cooperation with SinoCham – the Polish-Chinese General Chamber of Commerce.

In January this year, Regulation (EU) 2022/2560 of the European Parliament and of the Council on foreign subsidies distorting the internal market came into force and may significantly affect the course of major M&A transactions and public procurement procedures in the European Union. The Regulation applies to all economic activities in the internal market undertaken by businesses using (very broadly defined by the EU) foreign subsidies. It is irrelevant whether these subsidies are granted to businesses based outside the EU or based in a Member State.

As of 12 July this year, the European Commission is able to initiate proceedings ex officio to examine foreign subsidies in terms of the distortions they cause in the internal market. During the seminar, Paweł Pioruński, Partner from DZP’s Corporate and M&A Practice along with Katarzyna Kuźma, Partner, and dr Wojciech Hartung, Counsel from DZP’s Public Procurement Team, will discuss implications of the Foreign Subsidies Regulation on entities from China that are investing or are interested in investing in Poland.
