Digitalisation, modernisation of public transport and sustainable urban development are just some components of the Smart City concept. A growing commitment to implementing it can be seen all over the world, driven by projects such as the EU’s Smart Cities Marketplace, a forum for cooperation between modern cities, or the smart city certification at national and international levels. Technologies aimed at improving the living standards of residents are particularly important for the creation of smart cities today.
The new technologies are the main theme of the “Korea - Poland Smart City Business Mixer 2024”, a conference organised by the Korea Investment and Trade Agency (KOTRA). The event will take place on 24 September 2024 in Warsaw and will bring together Korean leaders that specialise in innovative solutions for cities, Polish and Korean government agencies, and Polish organisations and businesses associated with the Smart City concept. This will be an opportunity to establish business relations between Korean companies and Polish market players, and to broaden knowledge of state-of-the-art technologies created with future cities in mind. Tomasz Zielenkiewicz, Senior Associate from the Infrastructure and Energy Practice, will present the Smart City concept to participants. He will give examples of projects completed in this area in Poland, and specify the legal regulations to be taken into account when planning a project and the national and EU funding available to companies interested in developing smart city technologies.
In addition to a seminar on Poland’s potential for implementing smart solutions, the conference will also include presentations of Korean technologies. The event will provide an opportunity for B2B meetings with representatives of Korean companies that specialise in smart city measures, including IT systems, infrastructure engineering technology, early forest fire detection technology, and diagnostic and analysis systems for power equipment.
The Korea - Poland Smart City Business Mixer aims to build and promote the image of Poland as a country that actively supports the creation of a people-friendly environment using state-of-the- art solutions that improve the functioning of modern cities.
