4th edition of "Top Disruptors in Healthcare" report

The 4th edition of the "Top Disruptors in Healthcare" report was unveiled on 6 June in Warsaw during the AI & MEDTECH CEE conference. This year, the report showcases the achievements of 151 medical start-ups, 125 of which are from Poland and 26 from the CEE region.

The report provides an in-depth analysis of startups operating in the medical sector, focusing on the solutions they offer, their development stages, and current needs and plans for the future, also in terms of overseas expansion. The main aim of the report is to facilitate cooperation between medical startups and stakeholders and to support startups with financing.

According to the data in the report, the medical areas of greatest interest to startups are oncology and cardiology (21 startups examined in each of these fields). For years now, most startups (75) have been offering innovative solutions based on artificial intelligence and machine learning, which, as the authors point out, may indicate a growing public awareness and belief that new technologies can revolutionise the field of healthcare. The report contains detailed statistics on, e.g. financing methods and the impact of the war in Ukraine on medical startups, and also outlines the challenges faced by these organisations today.

The authors of this year's report are the AI in Health Coalition, a team of experts at wZdrowiu, the Polish Federation of Hospitals and the Young Medical Managers team. The main partners of the publication are AstraZeneca, Google for Startups and PZU Zdrowie, while DZP has once again become a Partner supporting the project. The report has also attracted the honorary patronage of 16 national and international public institutions, inter alia, the National Health Fund, the Patient Ombudsman, the Supreme Chamber of Physicians and the International Hospital Federation and was co-financed by the Ministry of Development and Technology.
